The Chinese MIIT revealed the battery and range options of the Levc L380 electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) from geely. Its top-trim level version has a 116-kWh ternary NMC battery from CATL for 675 km of range. Let’s get to the details.
LEVC is an abbreviation that stands for London Electric Vehicle Company. Its predecessor is the British London Taxi Company, founded in 1919. In 2012, Geely acquired it, and LEVC focused on manufacturing BEVs and EREVs (extended-range electric vehicles). Its model line currently comprises a single car called TX. Soon, LEVC will launch one more model, the L380 multi-purpose vehicle. Its name is a reference to the biggest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.
The information about the L380 battery options was revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in the Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempted from Vehicle Purchase Tax.
The entry-level LEVC L380 has a 100 kWh ternary NMC battery from CATL. This pack weighs 581 kg. It powers a 200-kW (268 hp) electric motor from VREMT (Geely’s subsidiary). With this battery on board, the LEVC L380 can run up to 570 km on a single charge.
