Leave a messageOn January 15, Zeekr launched its 2024 Zeekr 009 all-electric MPV. Consumers can choose from two models, priced at 500,000 yuan (69,700 USD) and 588,000 yuan (82,000 USD), offering 702 km and 822 km cruising ranges, respectively. As an annual facelift model, the major changes are at the configuration level.
The 2024 Zeekr 009’s appearance remains unchanged compared to the previous model. The front face features a closed grille decorated with a straight waterfall design and inverted U-shaped headlights. Zeekr claims that the new car is the world’s first MPV to be equipped with an intelligent grille in which the design can change under different scenarios. The rear adopts the popular through-type taillights comprised of 402 LED units with the ZEEKR logo in the middle, high-mounted brake lights, and a roof spoiler.
Positioned as a medium-to-large six-seater MPV, the 2024 Zeekr 009 measures 5209/2024/1848 mm, and the wheelbase is 3205 mm. The side profile features dense-spoke rims, a suspended roof design, electric side sliding doors, and three-dimensional wheel eyebrows. Its drag coefficient is as low as 0.27Cd. Four exterior body colors are offered, namely, white, silver, blue, and black.
Both models come in AWD with dual electric motors and CATL’s CTP 3.0 Qilin ternary lithium battery packs. The electric motor each outputs 400 kW and 686 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The braking distance from 100 to 0 km/h is 36.9 meters. Two battery pack capacities in 116 kWh and 140 kWh are offered, providing a corresponding CLTC cruising range of 702 km and 822 km. Under fast charging, it takes 28 minutes to replenish the battery from 10% to 80%.
In terms of safety, the new car’s advanced driving assistance system called Zeekr AD is realized via seven 8-million-pixel high-definition cameras, four 2-million-pixel high-definition cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, and a millimeter wave radar. The Zeekr AD supports functionalities including full-speed range adaptive cruise control, automated lane change, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.
Inside, the cockpit adopts a traditional T-shaped layout with a 15.4-inch large central control screen positioned at the center, an embedded 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, and a 15.6-inch ceiling entertainment screen, which is consistent with the previous model. The built-in vehicle operating system is supported by the Zeekr OS along with an AI assistant.
In 2024, Zeekr aims to sell 200,000 vehicles. In 2023, less than 20,000 units of the Zeekr 009 were sold, with an average of more than 1,000 units per month. Will the 2024 Zeekr 009 be more competitive in the market this year?
